You may also see Satin photo paper described as RC or Resin Coated.
RC refers to the construction of the paper, rather than its surface finish. Resin-coated photo paper has a paper base enclosed between thin polyethylene layers, creating a more sealed and robust structure.
This construction can provide improved durability and better resistance to moisture, scratching and everyday handling compared with many cast-coated photo papers, including many lightweight glossy photo papers. The added durability can be useful for prints that will be handled, displayed or used in finished products.
